Children and teenager detoxification centre

Child and Adolescent Detoxification Center is a specialized department for the acute treatment of children and the youth with experience and dependence on psychotropic substances. The workplace is unique of its kind in Prague and the Czech Republic. It provides both in-patient and out-patient care.

Acute treatment of drug intoxication                                                                                                                                - reception of patients from Rescue Service

The detoxification is followed by psychotherapy, usually 7 to 21 days hospitalization as well as by out-patient diagnostic and toxicological examination.

Out-patient consultations Mon-Fri: 8AM - 3.30PM - contact point for children, parents, doctors and teachers. Helping to ensure the subsequent treatment in all types of drug treatment facilities. Social support for family, school, employment. The hospital accepts patients before their 18th year of age (including detoxification). In case of acute intoxication - not necessary to make an appointment! Intake of patients is not regionally restricted.

Treatment is aimed not only to cope with withdrawal symptoms, but also with motivational training - by intensive individual- and group- motivational therapy and leisure activities (pottery workshop, art therapy, music therapy, etc.)

For children with compulsory education, everyday school is provided.

Information

Child and Adolescent detox center provides comprehensive drug care for children and young people under 18 years. The care is provided by a team of experienced psychiatrists, pediatricians, psychologists, therapists, teachers and social workers. The center offers cooperation in solving problems with children and young people who experience drugs or reflect the criteria of drug users, or even belong in the category of patients with advanced substance abuse - from out-patient consultation to decide about the hospitalization and a follow-up of detoxification and subsequent treatment. We are ready to take the patients for detoxification and subsequent inclusion in the psychotherapeutic program for motivation for further treatment (eg in specialized outpatient clinics, day care or therapeutic communities). The Center includes outpatient psychiatric and inpatient building with a capacity of 14 beds. Operation of the bed is constant. Treatment is differentiated by type of patient and his/her current health condition.

Psychiatric clinic

Provides initial psychiatric examination required for the eventual adoption of inpatient department outpatient consultations psychotherapy for parents and children aftercare if indicated replacement therapy (Subutex).  Inpatient unit provides detoxification - by type of patient and his current health status. 

Psychotherapy program - individual and group, focused on the motivation for further treatment (eg in specialized outpatient, day care or therapeutic communities). Patients are placed in groups according to age (15 and 15 years old - a crucial factor may not be just age and mental maturity of the individual).

Pediatric clinic

PATIENTS IS DaDDC during hospitalization, expert social counseling, consulted on their loved ones.
